Definition of imaginary J character form
※1. The general rule is that aj1-13714 is used for "巨", but if the length of the horizontal stroke stands out, u5de8-var-001 is to be used.
※2a The general rule is that u6708 is used for "月".
※2b This is an exception to the "月" rule above.
Fudeosae(筆押さえ)
In the upper left of a "upper left to bottom right" stroke,
Fudeosae is not applied (example: use
u4e42-g, not
u4e42). When a character has a
Hachiyane (
八,
Hachi roof),
Fudeosae is applied (example: use
u516b-03, not
u516b-g03).
爫/爫
The general rule is to use
u722b. However, characters composed of
cdp-8bb8 are an exception; use
cdp-8bb8, and not something like
sandbox@696.
林/𣏟
u233df is generally only used for characters derived from "麻"
aj1-14044(
u9ebb); otherwise use
u6797.
Glyphs where the imaginary J character form applies
For these glyphs, the imaginary J character form applies.
- Glyphs where the UCS code point has a "jv" suffix (u####-jv, u2####-jv)
- CJK Unified Ideographs Extension F glyphs (extf-#####), where there is no J source
- Non-Simplfied Chinese exclusive glyphs in the IRG Collection 2015 glyphs (irg2015-#####)
Glyphs where the imaginary J character form does not apply
Simplified Chinese characters
For characters that include forms exclusive to Simplified Chinese (such as
u5356,
u7e9f,
u89c1,
u8ba0,
u8d1d,
u8f66,
u9485,
u957f,
u95e8,
u97e6,
u9875,
u98ce,
u9963,
u9a6c,
u9c7c,
u9e1f,
u9f7f,
u22016, and
u2b823), the imaginary J character form
does not apply to UCS code points suffixed with "-jv" and the Ext F glyphs, which are to be moved to "u#####-jv" in the future.
Characters with a J source
- Code points that correspond to a JIS kanji code (JIS X 0212とJIS X 0213) character
- For code points that correspond to a JIS kanji code character, do not create glyphs with a "jv" suffix.
- Code points with a J source in the UCS
- For code points with a J source in the UCS, do not make glyphs with the "-jv" suffix. Instead, for those glyphs that have the "j" suffix on their code point, follow the character form of UCS' J source. However, u8279 is normally used for the grass radical (草); ufa5d and ufa5e are not used (See "Ext FのJソースの4画草冠について" at GlyphWiki-ノート:仮想J字形のガイドライン).
